Science Explorer publishes statistics about research: institutions, places, fields, and the researchers whose published work makes them up.

What we show about researchers

Only information that is already public in the scholarly record: a researcher's name as it appears on their publications, their institutional affiliation, the fields they publish in, counts of works and citations, co-authors, and an ORCID identifier where one is public. We do not collect contact details, and nothing here is drawn from anywhere but the published record in OpenAlex.

Why

To show where research happens and to credit the people who do it. The legal basis is legitimate interest in making the public research record navigable (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Contact details for data-protection requests are being added.

Your rights

You can ask for your page to be corrected, hidden from search engines, or removed, and you can object to the processing (GDPR Art. 15–21). A request to hide a page from search engines takes effect as soon as it is received; correction and removal are reviewed by a person.

Many errors come from the underlying record — a merged author profile, for example. Those can also be fixed at the source through OpenAlex or ORCID, and the correction reaches Science Explorer with the next snapshot.
