Field rank: how many more of the researcher's articles, reviews and conference papers in this field reached the world top 10% for their subfield and year than the 10% expected of anyone's. A paper in the top 10% adds 0.9 and any other takes 0.1 away, however highly cited, so many strong papers in the field outrank one famous paper, a long record of ordinary papers does not climb, and work in other fields does not count. A paper in two subfields counts half in each. A researcher with fewer papers in the Nature Index's selective journals than expected has the count lowered by the square root of that journal factor. Floor: 15 works, an institution the snapshot can resolve, and an article, review or conference paper in this field.
